Lindig Lewisburg Foundation Fund to Grant $4,100
The Lindig Lewisburg Foundation Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania will have $4,100 available for competitive grantmaking in 2012. Nonprofit organizations that encourage civic projects for the spiritual and material betterment of the citizens of Lewisburg are encouraged to apply. Organizations that are outside of Lewisburg may apply, but must quantify the number of Lewisburg residents being served.
The Lindig Lewisburg Foundation Fund was established in 2006 with a $ $111,500 endowed gift from the late Charles F. Lindig. In his will, he set aside a portion of his estate for the benefit of projects directed towards the religious, charitable, educational, cultural, recreational, or economic welfare of the Borough of Lewisburg. Mr. Lindig wanted this fund to serve as a living memorial to his grandparents, Charles F. Lindig and Sarah Bobb Lindig and to his parents, Fred W. Lindig and Nettie Walter Lindig. According to his will, he did this, "in grateful appreciation of the opportunities accorded to my family by the Community of Lewisburg."
Applications must be postmarked January 1, 2012 in order to be considered. Organizations that have received grant funding from the Lindig Lewisburg Foundation Fund within the last 5 years may not apply. Complete guidelines and applications may be found on the Community Foundation’s website www.fcfpartnership.org under Grantmaking, Funding Opportunities.
