Williamsport-Lycoming Community
Foundation Mini-Grant Guidelines & Application
The Williamsport-Lycoming Community Foundation’s
mini-grant program is designed to fund projects that
don’t necessarily fit into the Foundations semi-annual
grant-making cycles or ones that are time-sensitive in
nature. A quick-decision turnaround time and rolling
deadline enables organizations to meet our community’s
most critical needs without having to wait for the next
competitive grant-making cycle.
What is the Community Foundation’s
grant-making strategy?
The
Williamsport-Lycoming Community Foundation encourages
funding requests from non-profit organizations whose
programs:
-
Offer creative responses to the community’s most
pressing needs and
concerns;
-
Are preventative and farsighted rather than
remedial;
-
Maximize the impact of relatively modest grants;
-
Increase access and opportunities for people from
low-income or underserved segments of the community;
-
Involve cooperation or collaboration among program
providers.
What activities are eligible for funding?
Organizations may submit multiple mini-grant requests
throughout the year. Organizations
may not
however, submit a request for the same program/project
twice in one fiscal year (January 1 – December 31).
Who may apply?
Applicants must be a designated 501(c)3 nonprofit under
the Internal Revenue Code that services the
Williamsport-Lycoming area. Organizations must provide
evidence of designation.
When and how should I apply?
The
Foundation accepts mini-grant requests with a rolling
deadline throughout the year. Organizations may submit
requests for funding up to $2,000.
Notification of mini grant awards takes approximately
two-weeks.
